January 2024 Newsletter.

•   Good Evening,

     - Due to the unusually cold and windy weather on Saturday, January 11th, 2025 and our members just getting over being sick, we decided to move our meeting to a nice warm local restaurant. Instead of the normal formalities, we enjoyed each other’s company and had a nice warm breakfast. We discussed upcoming events but that was the extent of our meeting. No raffles were held due to the low attendance.

     - The next month's meeting will be on Saturday, Feburary 8th at 10am. We meet at Warren Park, 3406 Warren Park Rd., Belle Isle, Fl 31812

     - We already checked, the weather is supposed to be Warm and Sunny.

     - This will also be a Pot Luck meeting.

Febuary 2024 Newsletter.

•   WELCOME MEMBERS AND GUESTS.

     - Meeting was called to order at 10:42am by Lou V. All recited the Pledge of Allegiance.

•   ACCEPTANCE OF PRIOR MONTH'S MINUTES

     - There were no previous minutes due to the cold weather. We had a nice warm breakfast and enjoyed each other’s company.

•   ACCEPTANCE OF TREASURER REPORT.

     - Cheryl B. read the October report, john made the motion to accept it and Don C. 2nd the motion. All members were in agreedment.

•   OLD BUSINESS.

     - Steve M. made the motion to rent the pavilion at Warren Park for the Christmas Party. It was 2nd by Don C. All members agreed.

•   NEW BUSINESS.

     - We are planning a metal detecting outing on Saturday February 22nd, 2025. We will be meeting at 14100 State Hwy A1A in Vero Beach, FL. This is south of Sebatian Inlet Bridge. Hope you all can join us.
     - Dirt Festival at Oconee, SC is scheduled for April 19-27, 2025.
     - Dirt Festival at Vein Mountain in Nebo, NC is scheduled for May 2-11, 2025. For more information it is available in the GPAA Magazine.
     - Our Lucky Strike outing was scheduled for May 14-17, 2025. We have changed it to May 21-24th, 2025. RV and tent sites are available as well as one cabin and one RV on site rental. You can make reservations by calling Lucky Strike at 828-738-4893. There is also online reservations at LuckyStrikeCampground.com. Come join in the fun!
     - The next month's meeting will be on Saturday, March 8th at 10am. We meet at Warren Park, 3406 Warren Park Rd., Belle Isle, Fl 31812

•   RAFFLES & DRAWINGS

     - 50/50 Raffle was won by Linda M. The Gold Drawing was won by Cheryl B.

•   Meeting Closed at 11:53am by Lou V. President. Mike B. made the motion and Don C. 2nd it.

     - Meeting was called to order at 10:33am by President Lou V. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited and then we proceeded with the meeting.

•   ACCEPTANCE OF PRIOR MONTH'S MINUTES

     - Last month's minutes were read. The minutes were accepted by Don C. and Mike B. 2nd the motion. All members were in agreement.

•   ACCEPTANCE OF TREASURER REPORT.

     - Cheryl B. read the Treasurer report. Steve K. made the motion to accept it, Don C. 2nd the motion. All members were in agreement.

•   OLD BUSINESS.

     - The Peace River fossil hunt on March 15th, 2025 was cancelled due to busy or conflicting schedules.
     - Dirt Festival at Oconee, SC is scheduled for April 19-27, 2025.
     - Dirt Festival at Vein Mountain in Nebo, NC is scheduled for May 2-11, 2025. More information is available in the GPAA Magazine and at goldprospectors.org.

•   NEW BUSINESS.

     - Our next month's meeting will be on Saturday, April 12th at 10:00am at Warren Park, 3406 Warren Park Rd., Belle Isle, Fl 31812. This is a Pot Luck meeting so please bring a dish to pass.
     - Our Lucky Strike Outing is coming up in May. This outing has been resceduled for May 21st - 24th, 2025. There is one cabin and at least one camper that may be available to reserve. Reservations are made at Lucky Strike, 828-738-4893 or through their website Luckystrikecampground.com. This is always a fun outing. Hope you can make it.
     - The pavilion at Warren Park has been rented for the Christmas Party, scheduled for December 13th, 2025. A big thank you to Mike B. and Cheryl B. for getting this rented so early in the year.

•   RAFFLES & DRAWINGS

     - The 50/50 raffle was won by Don C. and the gold draw was won by Steve K.

•   The meeting was closed at 11:09am.

     - Cheryl B. read the prior month's report. Steven K. made the motion to accept it, Ann W. 2nd the motion. All members agreed.

•   OLD BUSINESS.

     - Our upcoming trip is fast approaching. Our spring Lucky Strike Outing is scheculed for May 21-24, 2025. We understand that the cabin is already rented but there is a least 1 camper available to rent if interested. They can be reached at 828-738-4893. This is always a fun outing and we hope you can make it. There is also the Gold ad Gem Campground and Thermal City within a couple of miles. Both have several cabin available.
     - The pavilion at Warren Park has been rented for the Christmas Party, scheduled for December 13th, 2025. A big thank you to Mike B. and Cheryl B. for getting this rented so early in the year.

     - Metal detecting is scheduled for June 21st. We will finalize the plans Saturday June 14th.

     - There were no raffles and drawings due to low turnout with several members vacationing or had other prior engagements.
